Im Anschluß daran werden mehrere bekannte Methoden (Gaia, MASSIVE, Zeus, Aalaadin, MaSE) und Tools (FIPA-OS, JADE, Zeus-Toolkit, MadKit, agentTool) ausführlich behandelt. Die Methoden und Tools werden allgemein beschrieben, an einem einheitlichen Fallbeispiel illustriert, und unter Verwendung verschiedener anwendungsnaher und agentenspezifischer Kriterien bewertet.
