Reading Stars Phonics Phase 4 Pack contains a complete set of books to support children at this stage of their phonics reading. In total there are 39 books.

The pack contains both fiction and non-fiction titles, on a range of topics and text types. These books correspond to Phase 4 of Letters and Sounds, and match any phonics programme that follows the Letters and Sounds order to introduce new phonemes and graphemes. The words are all decodable which means they are made up of phonics that children can put together to decode the word..

The books at this level covers short and simple blends (CVCCs and CCVCs), and more complex blends. They also introduces 20 new high frequency words

Reading Stars Phonics Phase 4 Pack contains a complete set of reading books to support Phase 4 of a the first stage of a phonics programme where children are actually able to start reading. In total there are 39 books.

It contains both fiction and non-fiction titles, on a range of topics and text types. These books correspond to Phase 2 of the Letters and Sounds programme, which is the UK government''s benchmark for learning English language. The words are all decodable which means they are made up of phonics that children can put together to decode the word.

The 39 books cover:

  • 16 ''blend'' title that introduce just simple blends (CVCCs and CCVCs) as well as the new CEWs met in this phase.
  • 23 ''blend-plus'' titles that then introduce some more complex blends (polysyllabic CVCCs/CCVCs, CCVCCs etc).

    • Together this pack of books offers a structured way of developing children''s progression in reading.
