Surviving the collapse was only the beginning. Now they have to survive what they've built.

By the second spring after the grid went quiet, Dan Valley has become more than a refuge. Fields are growing. Water is running. Work is organized. People have begun to believe the valley might actually last.

But survival creates problems of its own.

More people means more mouths to feed. Every new arrival brings skills, needs, and another claim on resources that cannot be replaced. Rules that once seemed temporary begin to carry consequences. His brother Kevin sees the problem differently.
