Dark Honor

DARK HONOR is a gripping contemporary novel that blends family drama, coming of age, and crime/thriller elements. The story is set in a small town in Louisiana and later, Florida, and centers on Sara Faris, a bright, obedient high school student, living under the strict rule of her father, Adir. Sara's older sister, Amira, is rebellious and dreams of escaping her father's control. The family's world is shattered when Amira is found murdered with her boyfriend in a nearby park, just before graduation. The police investigation, led by Detectives Evans and Carter, uncovers a web of secrets, cultural tensions, and family violence. Yet, with no leads and growing silence, the case goes cold, leaving Sara haunted, trapped in grief.

Sara, traumatized by her sister's death, seeks solace in her studies, finds unexpected comfort in her young cousin, and experiences a budding first romance. Just as Sara's life is getting back to normal, she overhears a conversation that changes everything. Learning the truth about her sister's death, Sara flees to Florida where she starts a new life. Struggling to survive, Sara, now Jazmaine, works menial jobs eventually finding a sense of belonging with her co-workers. Her past, however, catches up with her when her father learns of her whereabouts. The story ends with the unraveling of terrorist plot to attack the homeland and the final confrontation of Sara and her father.
