Over 100 stories are drawn from the experiences of two veteran Fort Worth police officers and a veteran newspaper reporter, scanning the years from the 1950s to the present. They recount true tales of gangsters, serial killers, narcotics, vice, and patrol officers, as well as the unexpected and unusual events that occur in day-to-day policing. Eye-opening and surprising accounts of leadership successes and failures illustrate the day-to-day operations of the police force. Ultimately, the officers' faith in God and their calling reveal why they stay on the job, protecting the citizens of Fort Worth.

Kevin Foster is a highly decorated veteran of 45 years in law enforcement in Fort Worth and Tarrant County.
Kevin was a co-author of Written in Blood, the stories of Fort Worth's Fallen Lawmen, Volumes 1 and 2 with Richard Selcer. He is the Chairman Emeritus and Research Director for the Fort Worth Police and Firefighters Memorial.

James .C. Williams Jr. was a law enforcement officer for 38 years, working in both the Fort Worth Police Department and TCU Police department, where he retired as the assistant Chief of police. During his time with the FWPD, Williams worked Patrol, Vice, and Major Case. He commanded the Violent Crimes Section of the FWPD and the "Weed and Seed" Program, one of the most successful federal crime reduction programs ever enacted in the United States.

Kathy Sanders is an award-winning journalist who earned her degree in News-Editorial from the School of Journalism at the University of Colorado-Boulder.
She cut her teeth on police reporting in West Texas while working at the Abilene Reporter-News. There she developed her love for criminal justice reporting.
A Kansas native, Sanders accepted a job with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram where she covered natural and man-made disasters and quickly became known as "the queen of gore" among her newspaper colleagues. Later, she became a Fort Worth police reporter, a beat she covered for more than 10 years. Sanders earned a reputation as a fair, accurate and persistent reporter.
