This textbook introduces programming in Java, suitable for a one-semester or two-quarter courses. Fundamentals of Java Programming teaches the fundamental skills needed to get started in Java programming in a command-line environment, eschewing excessive amounts of lesson materials, which require two semesters to teach. Building solid foundations in Java programming, this book presents more than 180 code examples and 250 exercises, using Java 1.7 (and compatible with Java 1.8) so that most existing programs can run the code examples presented.
