Spinozas philosophische Innovation besteht darin, die Ausdehnung als Attribut Gottes und damit als eine dem Denken gleichmächtige Präsentationsform Gottes angesetzt zu haben. Damit wird die Ausdehnung gegenüber der Tradition neu bewertet. Diese Neubewertung führt zu einem radikal neuen Konzept Gottes als der Einen Substanz, mit unendlichen vielen gegeneinander geschlossenen Ausdrucksformen, deren eine die Ausdehnung bzw. der Raum ist. Das Verhältnis von Gott und Welt wird damit zu einem Ausdrucksverhältnis, so dass die entsubstantialisierte Welt Gott ausdrückt und ihm so immanent ist. §Vorliegende Untersuchung arbeitet dieses Ausdrucksverhältnis für das Verhältnis von Gott und Raum im Detail heraus und zieht damit die Linie zu Kants transzendentalphilosophischer Theorie der Raumanschauung und damit auch zum Naturbegriff des Deutschen Idealismus. Zugleich wird die spinozische Grundlegung der Physik in Absetzung von der aristotelisch-scholastischen Physik als neue Theorie der Körperwelt herausgearbeitet und in den Kontext der frühneuzeitlichen Naturkonzeption gestellt.
