"Great War Aussie Kit Bag 1: Uniforms and Clothing of the Australian Armed Forces 1914-1918" is the first volume in a comprehensive series of books focusing on the clothing and equipment worn and used by Australian forces who served with distinction throughout the so-called "War to end all wars."
Author Rod Wilson has spent a lifetime researching Australian military history and has served as a consultant to major museums as well as to film and television production companies internationally.
Every item is examined in meticulous detail, from head-to-toe; from slouch hats to hobnails, and from simple button designs to the famed "rising sun" badge. Profusely illustrated in colour throughout, Great War Aussie Kit Bag also includes many firsthand accounts from the soldiers who used this equipment, as well as comprehensive lists of contracted manufacturers and suppliers. It will be an invaluable resource for collectors, historians, students and scholars of the First World War.
