Die innerhalb des Forschungsschwerpunkts Informationslogistik an der Universität Karlsruhe dazu entwickelten Konzepte werden in diesem Buch dargestellt und an Beispielen vorgeführt. Die Entwicklung technologisch hochwertiger Produkte setzt den Zugriff auf immer umfangreicheres Wissen voraus. Dies führt zur Notwendigkeit, bei der schnellen Umsetzung einer Produktidee, unternehmensübergreifende Kooperationen auf Projektbasis einzugehen. Die größten Probleme dieser Art der Produktentwicklung und der zugehörigen Informationsverarbeitung treten dort auf, wo abteilungszentriertes Denken bisher im Vordergrund stand und einen offenen Informationsfluß verhindert. Für eine erfolgreiche Unternehmenskooperation ist aber ein offener und gesteuerter Informationsfluß über Abteilungs- und Unternehmensgrenzen hinweg von entscheidender Bedeutung. Das Ziel des Forschungsschwerpunkts Informationslogistik an der Universität Karlsruhe ist es, sich mit dieser Problematik auseinanderzusetzen und neue Formen der Zusammenarbeit auf der Basis neuer Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien zu erarbeiten. Die innerhalb des Forschungsschwerpunkts entwickelten Konzepte werden in diesem Buch dargestellt und an Beispielen vorgeführt. Aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse sind im Internet unter verfügbar.
