Circondato da una corte di fedeli e adulatori, Macno è però a un punto di crisi personale proprio quando la giornalista televisiva Liz e il suo operatore si intromettono abusivamente nella sua residenza con l’intento di intervistarlo. Raccontato dal punto di vista di una videocamera, apparentemente neutro ma in realtà parziale, questo è un romanzo profetico, che anticipa di molti anni l’evoluzione della politica nei nostri tempi.
