The world is developing rapidly but regrettably, the third world countries are unable to cope with this trend. Theory without practice is empty and practice without theory is blind, suffices me to say this is the dilemma of most African countries. This project report now as a book deals with an adequate and concise understanding of medium voltage (11Kv) switchgear erection principles, as well addressing simple commissioning procedures that are required. The fundamental calculation for protective relay setting treated, with a brief introduction to unit protection. A case study of four consecutive explosions of metering voltage transformer during commissioning added for educational purposes with the solution. Project reference has various pictorial illustrations in the write up as a proof for authentication. This book provides with in-depth simple novice ideology for the student at Higher Institution dreaming to become an expert on Electrical Power system and protective relaying coordination.
