Zunehmend wird ihr Ansatz transdisziplinär, vor allem in Hinblick auf die Sozial- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften sowie auf die Kulturwissenschaften. Eine wesentliche Frage ist daher, welche Programme und Entwürfe einer Rechtsethik im 21. Jahrhundert belastbar und tragfähig sind, um das Leben der Menschen sinnvoll zu gestalten. Kulturalität und Subjekt, Menschenwürde und ihre Begründung spielen dabei eine wesentliche Rolle. Ein strukturelles Spannungsfeld ist das Verhältnis der Rechtsethik zu den einzelnen rechtsdogmatischen Rechtsdisziplinen und der Rechtspraxis, das hier umfassend aufgegriffen wird. Einen weiteren Schwerpunkt bilden die Studien zur Gerechtigkeit. Was heißt Gerechtigkeit heute? Was sind ihre sozialen Perspektiven? Und vor allem, welche Rolle spielt die Generationengerechtigkeit in der Zukunft?
