As an assistant to a woman who owns a vast English estate, the only person that Kyndall Taylor has ever trusted is Lady Anna, her elderly employer. Lately, however, Anna's behavior has been strange. The older woman has gifted all her land to a woman called Shayla Gallagher and has replaced the estate staff with a steady stream of odd people from deep within the forest. One such character is Soland Leigh.

When Kyndall is assigned to care for Autumn while Soland works on the land, the two adults find common ground and a growing mutual attraction. But the woman called Shayla seems to have suspicious plans of her own.
