When a remote research station in Greenland goes dark, Harvey "Ben" Bennett and his allies walk straight into a frozen nightmare-and the last thing the world needs is the nightmare waking up.

But when he arrives to find the station abandoned, bloodstains on the walls, and half-buried labs in chaos, he realizes "routine" just packed its bags and fled. Teaming up with Juliet, the station's determined scientist, Qannik, a no-nonsense local guide, and Dr. Chuck Davis, a field medic who'd rather be anywhere else, they uncover what was stolen: a prehistoric virus unlike anything documented in modern medicine.

Now he has bigger problems than subzero temperatures or fickle satellite comms-the virus might already be on the loose.

Making matters worse, a group of ruthless mercenaries shows up hungry for a payday. They're armed to the teeth and ready to sell the virus to the highest bidder. In a land where the sun barely rises and a fatal storm closes in, Ben and his ragtag allies have zero margin for error. Saving their own skins would be hard enough; keeping a doomsday bug from spreading could be impossible.
