Vor allem im deutschen Mittelstand findet eine strategische Ansprache der Kapitalgeber noch nicht statt. Dabei zeigt sich in jeder Krise die Relevanz guter Bankbeziehungen: Im Kampf um Kapital dienen Creditor Relations der Sicherstellung der existenziellen Liquidität, verringern Fremdkapitalkosten und steigern somit den Unternehmenswert. Dieses Buch beschäftigt sich erstmals mit der theoretischen Einordnung von Creditor Relations in den unternehmerischen Prozess. Auf Grundlage der Neuen Institutionenökonomie werden die Beziehungen und Kommunikationsaktivitäten zwischen Unternehmen und ihren Fremdkapitalgebern analysiert. Den qualitativen - und somit kommunikativ beeinflussbaren - Ratingfaktoren kommt dabei eine besondere Rolle bei. Neue Erkenntnisse bieten in diesem Kontext auch die Leitfadengespräche mit führenden Spezialisten deutscher Banken.
