Thomas Müntzer (1489 1525) erhitzte schon zu Lebzeiten die Gemüter, und bis heute lässt sein Name aufhorchen. Der "Theologe der Revolution", wie ihn sein Biograf Ernst Bloch nannte, wurde vom DDR-Staat geradezu als Nationalheld verehrt. Heute gilt er den einen wegen seiner Befürwortung von gewaltsamem Widerstand als politischer Verbrecher und Terrorist, den anderen mit seinem klaren Blick für die sozialen Probleme seiner Zeit als Vorbild.
