Antavia Perkins-better known as "AP"-is seventeen years old and headed to college with hopes of escaping the chaos surrounding her life. But before summer ends, violence crashes into her world. Her older boyfriend has become abusive, possessive, and reckless enough to rob her of valuables gifted by Kingston Mercer-known on the streets as "Mega."

Before AP's mother died, a promise was made: Mega would look after her children. Mega keeps his word. He takes AP in, surrounds her with luxury, protection, and a lifestyle she's never known. But safety becomes something else. The longer they coexist under the same roof, the more emotional boundaries begin to blur. Conversations become attachment. Attachment becomes temptation. And temptation slowly turns into obsession.

Mega is a feared street figure with expensive tastes, ruthless instincts, and weaknesses he keeps hidden beneath power and reputation.
