Hungry Pumpkin

Pascha L. Perkins was born in E. St. Louis, on April 26,1972. Pascha was second oldest child born out of fifi vesiblings, with a total of two sisters and also two brothers. As a child, Pascha was brought in the mount Zion Baptistchurch, where at an early age she was placed in thechurch choir, for her sensational singing voice, that sheaccredits from her mother, Ms. Gail Perkins, who shesaid would sing around the house, and I would mimicthe tones I heard which helped me develop a voice, anda passionate love for singing. Now as a member of thechurch choir, she has flfl ourished gracefully and has developed a signaturesound. A raspy Alto, which blends R&B, soul and gospel, with the powerfulvocal ability, which has wowed listeners from her church, to winning a karaokecontest a lucky break competition at the Harrahs casino. Since then shehas been doing open mics , karaoke( which she loves) and performing at herjob of thirteen years( The Metropolitan Psyche Center) where she works asan activity aide II, planning arts and crafts, music and event planning, at thefacility. Pascha also went Southwestern Illinois College, pursuing a career ineducation and arts. Pascha says that this talent and passion for art beganat the tender age of fifi ve, watching her grandfather Donivan Lasley, paintand draw in the basement of his home, where he kept all his art supplies. Now at the age of 41, putting to the use those instilled talents, working inher fifi rst studio album titled Too Colored for Colored TV, and a book whereshe has collaborated with an in- house writing company called Fresh Ink. Towhere she does the illustrations, and they write to help progress her visionwith the book titled, The Hungry Pumpkin. Pascha L. Perkins is a shiningexample of a star that never dims, and shines progressively and purposelyfor those who try to ignore her illustrious glow gets blinded by her light.
